How To Choose A Trampoline Enclosure

Planning your budget for an inground or an above ground trampoline? Don’t forget to budget for the highest quality trampoline, mat and springs you can but also for an enclosure. How to choose a trampoline enclosure is something we talk with potential trampoline owners about all the time.

Just as when you buy a swimming pool there is safety equipment you will invest in — a pool cover, pool alarms and more — there is safety equipment you can (and should) buy for your trampoline. A trampoline safety enclosure is as important to the safety of those who use the trampoline as are covers for the springs and a high quality jump mat.

How To Choose A Trampoline Enclosure

There are several styles of trampoline enclosures and they vary based on who will use the trampoline and whether it is an above ground or an inground trampoline.

Trampolines purchased online or from toy stores, may not be as safe as you’d imagined they would be. When you buy a trampoline from a dealer who only specializes in trampolines and trampoline equipment can, and will, provide higher quality and therefore safer trampolines. When you’re buying a trampoline for you and your family you want to get one of the highest, and safest quality available, right?

Look for a trampoline enclosure that is:

  1. Easy to install (this is true if you’re installing it on your own
  2. That is tall enough to prevent any accidents from happening if anyone jumps too high
  3. That has small enough netting that no one will get their arms or legs caught in the mesh
  4. That has a safety zipper strong enough to withstand someone bumping into it

There are other safety enclosure questions you will want to talk with us about, but this is a primer to get you started down the right path of what questions to ask and why.

Make The Most Of The Quarantine On Your Trampoline

We are living in crazy times, right? Who would ever have imagined many states would be under quarantine and stay-in-place orders because of #coronavirus? It is unprecedented. If you’re home, though why not make the most of the quarantine on your trampoline?

Many times we make an impulse purchase or give into the children and their asking and asking for an inground or an above ground trampoline and then they don’t use it as often as you thought they would. If everyone is home, why not have a backyard party centered around the trampoline?

Make The Most Of The Quarantine On Your Trampoline

  1. Set a trampoline party theme. Olympics, a welcome to spring picnic, dinner at dusk or how about a movie and popcorn and night under the stars? You could lay blankets on the trampoline and all sleep under the stars or lie on your backs and just stare up at the stars and the moon, but sleep indoors — your choice.
  2. Have each family member plan a trampoline routine then perform it for the rest of you. Everyone can hold up “numbered signs” to rate the performance. The person who gets the highest number wins. Find a small prize or two from around the house to give to the winners!
  3. Let the youngest children in the family spend more time on the family trampoline. Let them jump and roll around and just have fun in the sun.
  4. If you have an above ground trampoline, drape blankets over the sides and then slip under the trampoline and have yourself an outdoor backyard blanket “fort.”
  5. Look online and find some simple trampoline workout routines you can use to get in shape during this time of the quarantine. You don’t want this time to end only to find out your jeans don’t fit any longer, do you?

What can you and your children to do have fun while being forced to stay at home?

A Trampoline-Buying Primer

You’ve decided that the children are right — a trampoline would be great fun! A trampoline-buying primer will help you make the best choice for you and your family.

What goes into choosing a trampoline?

There is no right or wrong, it’s a matter of personal preference.

  1. Why are you getting a trampoline? Do you want to simply exercise on it? Is there someone in the family who wants to be a gymnast and use the trampoline for routines? Will it be a place for the children to jump around and enjoy time out of doors? Will it be a combination of all of these? Sit down and determine why you want one and how you will use it and then keep that information handy when you come to our site or call us about a trampoline.
  2.  How much space will you want to devote to the trampoline?
  3. Do you want to be able to see the trampoline or do you want it to blend into your existing landscaping?

A Trampoline-Buying Primer

Taking time to understand the reasons for wanting a trampoline, the aesthetics of it, the accessories you will purchase for it and who will use it will help you form a decision and make a purchase that will keep everyone happy.

Don’t shop mainly on price — you get what you pay for — and you certainly don’t want to run the risk of anyone getting injured while using the inground or above ground trampoline.

Why Air Flow In Your Trampoline Matters

Why airflow in your trampoline matters. Of all the things you’re thinking about when you’re considering buying an inground or above ground trampoline, airflow may not have been something you’d even thought to talk with a trampoline salesperson about.

What is airflow?

Airflow is important for every type of trampoline system — inground or above ground. If the trampoline doesn’t have proper airflow the trampoline jump mat will lose its bounce. The effectiveness of your inground trampoline will be diminished if the airflow around and beneath the trampoline hasn’t been properly accounted for.

Airflow is what helps create a great bounce.

What kind of airflow does the Inground Trampoline deliver?

The inground trampolines have a specifically-designed spring pad. The pad allows for proper airflow in and around the springs and the jump mat. When you jump on the trampoline, the pad lifts slightly and the air escapes.

Every time you jump, the air flows beneath the mat and the pit in which the inground trampoline sits. that allows the air to flow around the inside as well as the outside of the spring pad. While you jump the pad lifts slightly, allowing the air to escape.

At In-Ground Trampolines we designed a complete system that goes into the ground.

Why Air Flow In Your Trampoline Matters

At InGround Trampolines we sell only new, high performance, anti-slip, jump mats that provide great airflow. Air flows between the springs and through the jump mat surface. Increasing airflow gives the inground trampoline a higher bounce and better performance.

If this is the year you invest in an inground trampoline because you know it will be a fun addition to your backyard and a place where your child/athlete can practice at home, you will not be disappointed.
