The Little Known Benefits Of Trampolines

Rebounding, also known as jumping on a trampoline, has more advantages than you may have considered. There are the little known benefits of trampolines that we have researched and want to share with you.

Jumping on a trampoline is ideal for those with motor skill challenges. When you’re jumping on a trampoline it enhances motor skills, coordination and balance. Physical activity of any sort helps develop neurological skills. A parent doesn’t have to invest in a trampoline because his or her child has motor or balance issues and in fact, if that is the case they will want to talk with their doctor first to make certain it is a safe option.

Whether you get an in-ground or an above ground trampoline, you need to assure yourself that your child is as safe as he or she can be.

When your children are learning to walk, that is too soon to put them on a trampoline. They need to have the firm ground beneath them and learn to stand on their own two feet, as it were. Once the child has learned to walk, jumping on a trampoline is a great way for him or her to strengthen their cores and stand on an uneven surface.

The Little Known Benefits Of Trampolines

We never recommend more than one person on a trampoline at a time, but when your toddler is on the trampoline you may want to join him and hold his hands so he can jump around and feel safe. Don’t jump, yourself, when your child is on there or he could get injured. Don’t toss your child into the air. Hold his hands and let him jump and feel the rebound beneath his feet.

A child may want to jump and roll around on the trampoline without mom and dad holding her hands, but you never want to leave her alone on the trampoline. As long as the springs are covered and the net is in place, let her jump and roll around to her heart’s content and have fun while working on her balance.

You have a few choices as you’re working from home during the COVID-19 business shut down. You can sit around or you can plan your coronavirus trampoline workout. The sales of in-ground trampolines have been skyrocketing as individuals are spending so much time at home and they want to get in shape.

It is easy to be home, without distractions other than the television and not move throughout the day — other than to graze in the refrigerator or cupboards. That is not healthy.

Plan Your Coronavirus Trampoline Workout

Today’s trampolines are aesthetically pleasing, affordable and safe. If you’re looking for a way to get in shape without worry about injury, a rebounding (that’s what it’s called!) workout on your in-ground trampoline is a great way to get started.

Jumping on a trampoline also feels like fun, not work and that just might keep you motivated to continue on with your workout even after you’ve gone back to work.

In-ground and above ground trampolines, right in your own backyard is truly one of the up and coming ways to have fun, get fit and feel happier and healthier. When you’re weightless and jumping it’s hard to not feel happy!

Having your own trampoline is better than having to go to the gym — you have your own gym, right in your own backyard.

Plan A Weekday Picnic

As the days continue forward with many of us across the country in a coronavirus quarantine holding pattern, it may be getting more difficult to entertain the children, right? Why not plan a weekday picnic. You have to eat lunch so why not make it an event?

Let the family know that today is going to be a special day because lunch will be eaten in the backyard by the above ground trampoline. The trampoline can factor into the event because it can be used for shade, you could drape a blanket over it to make it a tent and eat your lunch together in your “fort.”

Children are getting as bored with being cooped up and likely being separated from their friends other than their Facetime and Zoom chats. An outdoor lunch may not seem like a big deal to you, but it could be a big event for them. Imagine, too that making these times special will go a long way toward making the quarantine a time of family bonding and memory building.

Plan A Weekday Picnic

Get the whole family involved in the picnic by offering up these special getting-ready tasks:

  1. Put blankets and pillows down on the ground under the above ground trampoline.
  2. Drape blankets on the sides to shelter you from the sun.
  3. Let everyone make his or her own lunch. It may not seem like a big deal, but let your children eat what they want — PBJ, apples, crackers and cheese, leftovers… it’s one meal — let them use their imagination.
  4. Pack the food in a picnic basket to make it even more of an event.
  5. If you’re planning far enough in advance, why not make a special dessert or a watermelon boat or other treat for everyone to enjoy.
  6. Squeeze some fresh lemonade as a special treat or even let everyone make a milkshake for lunch!
  7. Enjoy lunch together.
  8. At the end of the meal, have everyone write a small note about what they loved the best about the picnic. Take those notes and put them in an envelope to read together later.
  9. Now… you knew it was coming! Have some fun on the trampoline. Everyone can probably take a half an hour or an hour to not only enjoy a lunch together, but a little time on the trampoline together.
