Trampolines Make Summer WorkOuts Easy

It is hot and humid and chances are you just don’t want to go running, jogging or even outside to jump rope! Trampolines make summer workouts easy — the reason — they offer many health benefits AND you cam rebound without breaking a sweat!

In fact, when you’re rebounding you are feeling the breeze — even if it’s a hot and humid one — when you’re airborne. Whether you have an above ground or an in-ground trampoline you can take to the backyard and still get a great workout in.

Trampolines Make Summer WorkOuts Easy

Why does owning a trampoline make working out in the heat of a summer day a breeze?

  1. Jumping on a trampoline gets the blood flowing and cleans out toxins
  2. When you’re running or jogging it’s easy to get dehydrated and hot and sweaty; rebounding on a trampoline can still lead to dehydration, but chances are you won’t get too sweaty
  3. You can run in place and get a workout without stress or strain on your joints
  4. Get on the trampoline first thing in the morning or after the sun goes down (as long as the trampoline is lighted) and get in a few bursts of exercise
  5. You can open the door of your house and get right onto the trampoline for your workout — this is ideal if you belong to a gym and have to deal with the heat of a car to get to the gym for your workout
  6. A trampoline workout — rebounding — helps with balance
  7. Working out on the trampoline leads to an endorphin rush and you just might feel happier and better!

Is It Safe To Use A Trampoline If You’re Pregnant?

Is It Safe To Use A Trampoline If You’re Pregnant? It’s a question some people ask us and we defer them to their doctor as he or she is the person to contact for a sensitive question like that. What we have heard though that it isn’t a bad way for a pregnant woman to stay in shape — as long as there is NO high jumping.

Jumping on a trampoline provides many health benefits, but pregnancy changes the way in which you could — and should — use a trampoline. The main reasons for concern are that a woman who is pregnant has a different center of balance and could easily fall. If you were active prior to pregnancy, a low impact workout on a trampoline — inground or above ground — may be approved by your doctor.

Is It Safe To Use A Trampoline If You’re Pregnant?

Here are some of the concerns about using a trampoline if you’re pregnant.

  1. Your center of gravity is off
  2. If you fall on your belly you could injure yourself. Your body is built to adapt to carrying a baby and you should be safe, but there is no reason to take a chance.

If you use a trampoline here is what to consider.

  1. It’s best to stay active and a “workout” on a trampoline is safer than running or jogging on your joints
  2. Jumping on a trampoline helps your knees, hips and legs from the additional weight they are carrying
  3. You can do light bouncing. Don’t take to the air. But light bouncing is good for your circulation and activity is better than inactivity.
  4. Jog in place. When you jog on a trampoline, you’re softening the impact when you land and you’re also improving your balance
  5. Walk in place. If you get tired and achy from a walk around the neighborhood, a walking in place or walking the perimeter of the trampoline is a great way to get in shape — or stay in shape.

Talk with your doctor then find a trampoline that fits your lifestyle and yard space for the duration of your pregnancy and beyond. Rebounding is a great way to regain your shape and stay healthy once the baby is born.

Should You Wear Shoes On A Trampoline?

Walking barefoot — you either love it or you cringe when you think about it. Should you wear shoes on a trampoline? That is a question we get asked all the time. We recommend not wearing shoes when you’re jumping. There are many reasons for being barefoot when you’re on a trampoline, the biggest of which is that you don’t want to damage the jump mat with shoes.

Jumping with socks on isn’t safe because socks can be slippery and could lead to a fall. There are shoes specially made for jumping on a trampoline and if you simply can’t bear to be barefoot — wear those!

Should You Wear Shoes On A Trampoline?

#DitchTheShoes when you’re on the trampoline! There are many reasons and here are a few:

  1. When you jump on a trampoline and land with your barefeet you truly feel the impact of the mat against your feet — the give the material beneath your feet
  2. You’re more “at one with the” trampoline when you’re barefoot
  3. When you’re barefoot you can use your toes more easily for balance
  4. If the trampoline is in your own backyard and you’re not afraid of any germs that you may be exposed to on a public trampoline — then there is no fear
  5. Wear your shoes until you get ready to get on the trampoline, put your shoes in a special trampoline bag and jump away!
  6. Jumping barefoot enhances your vestibular system — the part of your body/mind responsible for balance
  7. Health starts from the soles up — if you have foot issues, jumping barefoot may help with circulation

We recommend trampolining barefoot to protect the jump mat.

Whether you decide to go barefoot when you’re not on the inground or above trampoline is a personal choice, but if you go barefoot on the trampoline you will: strengthen, enhance and put you more in touch with the sheer act of rebounding.

What Is The Best Trampoline For Your Family?

If you ask someone, “what is the best trampoline for your family?” the answer is as different as the people you’re asking. If you and your family are in the market for a trampoline, you need to take a step back and think about the answers to these questions:

  1. How big do you want
  2. Where will you place it
  3. What is the heaviest weight person who will use it
  4. What is the budget for it
  5. Do you want an above ground or an inground
  6. Have you jumped on a trampoline recently? If not, you should just so you can test out some jump mats
  7. Will the trampoline be for children or adults or both
  8. Will you be using the trampoline for fun, exercise or both
  9. Why do you want it? To give into the pressure from your children or is it something the family has been thinking of and talking about for some times? Don’t make an impulse purchase!
