What You Need To Know About Trampolines

We get so many questions from potential new in-ground and above ground trampoline owners that we put together a list of what you need to know about trampolines.

What You Need To Know About Trampolines

What is the frame made of? Inground trampoline (IGT) systems use the same 14 gauge galvanized, USA steel frame and 18 gauge galvanized, USA steel wall panels and all stainless steel hardware.

What is the IGT frame/spring pad made from? IGT pads are specially made for in-ground trampoline applications and are constructed with the best 22 oz. vinyl that will stand up to all elements and conditions. Padded with American made, one inch, high-density foam that will keep the children safe. We use a unique bungee system to secure the pad in place while also giving a bit of shock absorption to the attachment points so your pad will always be right where it’s supposed to be with less stress to the seams. And the bungees are replaceable if one ever gives way.

What is the spring count and spring size? We use American made, pre-galvanized or optional Stainless Steel 8.5 x 1 1/8 inch springs. Our 12’IGT system has 96 springs and our 15’ IGT system has 120 springs, the highest spring counts in the industry.

What is the maximum jumper weight? This is a question we field more often than any other question and the answer is 450 pounds.

How To Buy A Trampoline For Your Family

“We’re bored….” how many times have your children said that this past few months when they have not only had summer vacation, but may even have had their school year cut short because of the coronavirus pandemic shutdown? If you want to have more fun and alleviate the boredom we have some tips on how to buy a trampoline for your family.

A first-time trampoline purchase may be a bit tricky for many people because there are so many options!

How To Buy A Trampoline For Your Family

  1. Should you get in inground
  2. Should you get an above ground
  3. Where will you put it
  4. How much weight will it need to accommodate
  5. What accessories and safety equipment should you buy
  6. What shape should you get
  7. How can you find a reputable trampoline seller (We have you covered on that!)
  8. Do you live in an area prone to high winds? If so, consider ways to secure an above ground trampoline so it doesn’t become a projectile. You may also need to protect it from theft — it does happen!

You will also need to know what type of safety measures and “rules” you need to have in place to keep your children safe. It is not a purchase to take lightly BUT a trampoline is ideal for health and happiness and your kids will love it! We also bet you will love it, too.

Contrary to what you may have heard trampolines are not dangerous — the injuries are typically caused by someone using it incorrectly and getting injured. Make sure everyone who uses it understands how to use it correctly and that can go a long way in preventing injuries. Trampoline safety nets and other accessories are also useful in preventing injuries.

Trampolines are fun and are a great way to get in shape. Just use yours wisely!

How To Store Your Trampoline For Winter

Depending on where you live, it doesn’t seem like winter is on its way, but for many parts of the country it will arrive. You will want to know how to store your trampoline for winter so it isn’t damaged by the harsh weather and we have ways to do just that.

You don’t typically want to leave your trampoline outdoors all winter long. In fact, if you live in an area of the country that is rainy and cold in the autumn, it might be time to consider packing it up for winter. Inclement weather can wreak havoc on the trampoline and its jump pad.

Because you’ve made the investment in a trampoline you certainly want to protect it so it is ready to use the next year when good weather comes around.

How To Store Your Trampoline For Winter

Storing a trampoline in the winter involves foresight and planning when you purchased it. Did you know where you can put it for the winter? Do you have a garage or storage shed or even a covered, protect from the elements area on a porch or carport? It may seem easier — and it is easier — to not worry about it in the winter, but that means you may be facing repairs and replacement of parts when you want to use it the next spring. Don’t do that to yourself!

Inground trampolines can either be packed away or covered with a safety cover. If you opt to leave it in the ground and leave the jump mat on you will want to remove layers of snow so it doesn’t get too weighed down during the winter.

An above ground trampoline will require some dissassembling in order to store it. It may be a task that will require the help of friends and family. Hey, why not turn it into a party! Then you can extend the invitation to them to help put it back together the next season and they get first dibs on jumping on it!

No matter where you store your trampoline in the winter keep it safe from moisture and from rodents wanting to burrow into the trampoline spring pads for the winter.

You definitely can leave the metal frame of your trampoline intact and remove only the jump mat and spring pad covers. If you do that, consider covering the frame to keep it from the elements and secure it so it doesn’t blow away if there is a storm.

Start A Home Health Workout Routine

If your regular gym has been closed because of coronavirus, why not start a home health workout routine and do just that on an inground or an above ground trampoline. Don’t let the lack of a gym or the commercial pool or your regular exercise classes get you down and don’t let coronavirus take even more away from your “regular” life. Get into and stay into health in your own home with your own trampoline!

Start A Home Health Workout Routine

Many people have joked about the “coronavirus 19” meaning the amount of weight they have gained during the pandemic and the lockdown. So many people have become road warriors and are biking or hiking or walking the dogs multiple times a day just to stave off boredom and to stay in shape.

If you want to continue doing that but add in something even more fun to the daily routine, try a trampoline workout. Here are some ways to get in shape on a trampoline:

  1. Rebounding is a great way to move toxins throughout, and out of your body.
  2. Jump up and do a twist
  3. Jump up then land on your bottom then bounce back up
  4. Jump from your feet, land on your knees then jump back to your feet
  5. Twirl your arms while you jump to work that part of your body
  6. Rebounding and its weightlessness is a great way to improve your mood
  7. Jumping on a trampoline won’t cause any injury (too much walking or biking can)
  8. You can invest in an inground or above ground trampoline and workout right in your own home without worrying about when or whether the gyms will reopen
