Tips For Caring For A Trampoline

We have tips for caring for a trampoline because whether you buy an inground or an above-ground trampoline you want to protect your investment in the trampoline and in the fun you have on it for as long as you can. Proper trampoline maintenance and care is important to protect it and also for safety reasons. Taking care of the trampoline will keep it safe for everyone who uses it.

The number one way to “protect” your investment is to ensure you’re investing in a trampoline that is of the highest quality.

Tips For Caring For A Trampoline

Here are basic trampoline care tips.

  1. Don’t jump on it if you’re wearing jewelry, belts or earrings. (In fact, wearing earrings, if you land on your head or ears could lead to an ear injury if the earring gets caught in the mat) Sharp objects can damage the jump surface.
  2. Don’t wear shoes. Either go barefoot or buy shoes designed for rebounding. If you jump barefoot you will be able to reap the benefits of rebounding.
  3. Clean the mat regularly. Clean off any debris. Clean the mat itself with warm soapy water. Rinse it well. Use a mat cover to protect it between use.
  4. If you have an above-ground trampoline, make certain it is set up on the level and flat ground. This will prevent it from tipping over.
  5. If possible, put your trampoline in a shaded area BUT make certain there are no overhanging obstacles that could cause injury (a roof overhang or tree branches) You can also use a UV protector on the jump mat to keep it from becoming brittle.
  6. Before the season is over for your jumping, winterize the trampoline. If possible dismantle your above-ground trampoline. If you can’t, then you need to ensure there is no snow build-up that can damage the mat. Clear snow off your inground mat as well. You will want to remove the net from both styles of trampolines. Snow on the mat will keep the mat wet and stretch it out and lead to mold buildup.

It’s not difficult to care for a trampoline, but it certainly is something you need to do on a regular basis to ensure its safety and longevity.

Why Trampolines Are Fun For Adults

When it comes to getting in shape and having fun at the same time, we get it! And why not? We have some tips for why trampolines are fun for adults and teenagers, too. Trampolines always look like so much fun when children are jumping around on them and there’s no reason you can’t join in!

Trampolines are ideal for exercising especially for someone who wants to get in shape without worrying about joint injury or pain. Rebounding offers a great cardio workout and it works your legs as well as your core. Older adults who may suffer from balance issues benefit from rebounding because of the core workout they provide.

Why Trampolines Are Fun For Adults

Jumping on a trampoline, for even thirty minutes a day gives an adult a full workout without even leaving the house.

What are some things you should look for when purchasing an inground or an above-ground trampoline?

  1. Where you will place the inground or above-ground trampoline will be one of the considerations when it comes to size. The size of the jump mat will also play a role in your freedom of movement when it comes to your rebounding workout.
  2. You can choose trampolines that are circular or rectangular. The shape may also be determined by the space you have for the trampoline.
  3. Your budget. Know how much you have to spend for your trampoline because that will help you determine the size and shape.
  4. Don’t forget to budget for spring covers and a net, among other trampoline accessories.
  5. An in-ground trampoline will require more work when it comes to installation as you will need to excavate a hole for it. Regardless of the type of trampoline you get, you may want to recruit friends and family to help with its construction.

  3. Get into a workout routine. It doesn’t matter if you rebound in the morning, at lunch time or after dinner — or all three! What matters is that you find a time to jump on your trampoline that works for you and that you can do regularly.
  4. Know that when you’re rebounding you are also strengthening your lungs and cardiovascular system. Rebounding also stimulates your lymphatic system and helps move and remove toxins from your body.
  5. You can jump on a trampoline regardless of your current level of activity. Talk with your doctor about wanting to use a trampoline and get his okay before you start a workout routine. Buying a trampoline for your family can be a somewhat daunting task! We have put together a list of 5 family trampoline buying tips for 2021 that you will definitely want to read.

If your children have been asking for one and you have realized how great they are for working out, this should be the year you decide whether you want an inground or an above ground trampoline. Buying a trampoline that is just right for your family is something we talk with our customers about regularly.

5 Family Trampoline Buying Tips For 2021

Do your research and consider the answers to these questions.

  1. Do you want an above ground or an inground trampoline? Above ground cost less, but will impact the view in your yard. An inground trampoline may cost more, but it will blend in with the surroundings.
  2. The location of the trampoline may also play a role in which style you invest in. Do you have enough space to safely place a trampoline that will have the area above the trampoline free from danger? An overhang on a roof or tree branches can cause injury and you need to know where the trampoline will be placed and if there are any potential overhead dangers.
  3. Do you have a preference on the shape? A rectangle trampoline provides more bounce area. Round ones keep the rebounder centered on the jump mat.
  4.  Even though it is safest — and we recommend — only one person use the trampoline at a time, how many jumpers do you believe will be using it? If there are more than one jumper and if they are of similar weights they may be safe enough to jump together. You will also want to consider the highest weight of the jumpers. Look for a jump mat and springs that can accommodate that weight.
  5. Budget for safety. Look at accessories including: jump mat quality, spring quality and material, spring covers, trampoline enclosure, mat protection cover and others. Talk with us about your safety concerns.

Look for a reputable dealer for your trampoline — no matter the style. Talk with them and look at their online reviews. Talk with him or her and ask questions about the buying process based on your unique needs.
