How To Buy A Trampoline For Your Family

“We’re bored….” how many times have your children said that this past few months when they have not only had summer vacation, but may even have had their school year cut short because of the coronavirus pandemic shutdown? If you want to have more fun and alleviate the boredom we have some tips on how to buy a trampoline for your family.

A first-time trampoline purchase may be a bit tricky for many people because there are so many options!

How To Buy A Trampoline For Your Family

  1. Should you get in inground
  2. Should you get an above ground
  3. Where will you put it
  4. How much weight will it need to accommodate
  5. What accessories and safety equipment should you buy
  6. What shape should you get
  7. How can you find a reputable trampoline seller (We have you covered on that!)
  8. Do you live in an area prone to high winds? If so, consider ways to secure an above ground trampoline so it doesn’t become a projectile. You may also need to protect it from theft — it does happen!

You will also need to know what type of safety measures and “rules” you need to have in place to keep your children safe. It is not a purchase to take lightly BUT a trampoline is ideal for health and happiness and your kids will love it! We also bet you will love it, too.

Contrary to what you may have heard trampolines are not dangerous — the injuries are typically caused by someone using it incorrectly and getting injured. Make sure everyone who uses it understands how to use it correctly and that can go a long way in preventing injuries. Trampoline safety nets and other accessories are also useful in preventing injuries.

Trampolines are fun and are a great way to get in shape. Just use yours wisely!

Are You Using Your Trampoline Even More?

“I’m bored…” How often have your children been saying that since the coronavirus pandemic hit and they are now forced to stay home and not see their friends? Are you using your trampoline even more? We know that many people are and that many more people are investing in trampolines for fun and exercise when they are staying home.

Using a trampoline is a great way for your children to burn off their energy and to get in shape (without even knowing it) and stave off boredom that comes from not being able to see their friends or go to school.

We also know that some parents are “bored” too, of trying to find ways to entertain their children while they are trying to get work done!

Are You Using Your Trampoline Even More?

If you’re new to trampoline ownership or are still in the research phases for an in-ground or an above ground trampoline here are a few things to keep in mind.

  1. Buy the highest quality you can afford. A high quality, well-made in-ground or above ground trampoline will keep you safer and will also last longer than lower quality, inexpensive models.
  2. There needs to be ample headspace in the area you are placing your trampoline. There should be no overhead branches, roofs or other potential crash injury structures.
  3. Inspect the springs, bolts, pads and jump mat regularly. You need to make sure the pads are completely covering the springs. The springs need to be viable and not rusted or coming loose. The jump mat needs to also be inspected for any rips or tears.
  4. Check the safety net to make certain it’s secure and that there are no holes.
  5. Make sure there is only one child at a time jumping on the trampoline. You may be able to have more than one if they are the same weight and that they know not to jump too crazily so they bump into one another.
  6. Shoes off! Make sure shoes are off when jumping on the trampoline. Don’t let children or adults wear jewelry or earrings when on the trampoline as they could get snagged on the net or mat and cause an injury.
  7. Make sure the mat is dry. A slippery jump mat will lead to a slip and fall. Dry the mat and use a mat cover when the trampoline is not in use.
