Why Trampolines Are Fun For Adults

When it comes to getting in shape and having fun at the same time, we get it! And why not? We have some tips for why trampolines are fun for adults and teenagers, too. Trampolines always look like so much fun when children are jumping around on them and there’s no reason you can’t join in!

Trampolines are ideal for exercising especially for someone who wants to get in shape without worrying about joint injury or pain. Rebounding offers a great cardio workout and it works your legs as well as your core. Older adults who may suffer from balance issues benefit from rebounding because of the core workout they provide.

Why Trampolines Are Fun For Adults

Jumping on a trampoline, for even thirty minutes a day gives an adult a full workout without even leaving the house.

What are some things you should look for when purchasing an inground or an above-ground trampoline?

  1. Where you will place the inground or above-ground trampoline will be one of the considerations when it comes to size. The size of the jump mat will also play a role in your freedom of movement when it comes to your rebounding workout.
  2. You can choose trampolines that are circular or rectangular. The shape may also be determined by the space you have for the trampoline.
  3. Your budget. Know how much you have to spend for your trampoline because that will help you determine the size and shape.
  4. Don’t forget to budget for spring covers and a net, among other trampoline accessories.
  5. An in-ground trampoline will require more work when it comes to installation as you will need to excavate a hole for it. Regardless of the type of trampoline you get, you may want to recruit friends and family to help with its construction.

Trampolines Make Summer WorkOuts Easy

It is hot and humid and chances are you just don’t want to go running, jogging or even outside to jump rope! Trampolines make summer workouts easy — the reason — they offer many health benefits AND you cam rebound without breaking a sweat!

In fact, when you’re rebounding you are feeling the breeze — even if it’s a hot and humid one — when you’re airborne. Whether you have an above ground or an in-ground trampoline you can take to the backyard and still get a great workout in.

Trampolines Make Summer WorkOuts Easy

Why does owning a trampoline make working out in the heat of a summer day a breeze?

  1. Jumping on a trampoline gets the blood flowing and cleans out toxins
  2. When you’re running or jogging it’s easy to get dehydrated and hot and sweaty; rebounding on a trampoline can still lead to dehydration, but chances are you won’t get too sweaty
  3. You can run in place and get a workout without stress or strain on your joints
  4. Get on the trampoline first thing in the morning or after the sun goes down (as long as the trampoline is lighted) and get in a few bursts of exercise
  5. You can open the door of your house and get right onto the trampoline for your workout — this is ideal if you belong to a gym and have to deal with the heat of a car to get to the gym for your workout
  6. A trampoline workout — rebounding — helps with balance
  7. Working out on the trampoline leads to an endorphin rush and you just might feel happier and better!

Caring For Your Outdoor Trampoline

Trampolines, both in-ground trampolines and above ground trampolines are gaining in popularity each passing year. When we talk with new trampoline and in-ground trampoline owners we talk about caring for your outdoor trampoline, because the weather and constant exposure to the elements can take its toll on the structure and, especially, the trampoline mat.

If you and your family have decided that this is the year to invest in outdoor family fun with the purchase and installation of your own in-ground or above ground trampoline, here are a few items you will want to take care of and address to keep your trampoline safe for rebounding.

Caring For Your Outdoor Trampoline

When you have anything that is outdoors all of the time — trampoline, a swimming pool, a swingset and your outdoor furniture, they will take a beating from the weather and in order to extend their life you need to following manufacturer’s guidelines in their care.

When talking about your trampoline or in-ground trampoline specifically, here are items to care for:

Frame. When you invest in one of our trampolines you will be getting one that has a sturdy contruction and made in the USA. We use high quality materials and those which will not rust. Also, when you invest in a high quality frame your above ground trampoline will stand a better chance of remaining standing during a windstorm.

Mat. Because the mat is where you do your rebounding and because it is the largest surface on the trampoline, it will have the greatest exposure to the sun, wind and rain. Invest in the highest quality material for the jump mat as possible. Also invest in a mat cover to protect it from the elements. Inspect the jump mat each time before you, or someone in your family, uses it. Look for any small rips or any areas that appear worn — this is a sign of danger because if someone jumps on it when there is a rip, it could lead to them falling through and injuring themself. Do not jump on a trampoline that has a mat with impaired integrity.

Springs. Look for heavy duty, high tensile springs. Keep them covered as well to protect them from the elements. Dirt and dust can also lead to damage of the springs. Clean them out occasionally. Check the springs each time before you begin jumping on the trampoline to assure they are securely attached.

When you own a trampoline that is for outdoor use, you will be responsible for its care and to assure it’s always safe for family use. An outdoor trampoline is designed to withstand the weather elements, but you do need to properly care for the mat and its components. Ask us for advice on caring for all of the components of your above ground or in-ground trampoline.

Benefits Of Jumping On A Trampoline

You’ve seen trampolines in your friend’s and neighbor’s yards and your children just love jumping on one. Now you’re thinking, maybe you will get one of your own because you’re reading more about the benefits of jumping on a trampoline and you’re getting convinced.

Whether you opt for an inground trampoline or an above ground trampoline, the benefits of jumping also known as rebounding are the same. Also, no matter what type of trampoline you get, you and your children will benefit from the fun and from the workout you get.

How many times have you used “fun” and “workout” in the same sentence? Probably not many!

Benefits Of Jumping On A Trampoline

Here are some of the many benefits you and your family will reap when you spend time on a trampoline. Oh, another benefit of a trampoline workout… you don’t need to devote hours at a time. You can get in shape in as few as fifteen minutes a day, but we bet you’ll spend more time than that!

  1. You get better balance. As we age and we lose some of our balance and stability. This is caused by aging muscles and by a sedentary lifestyle. Jumping on a trampoline means you need to use yoru arms and legs and pay attention to your balance to stay upright. It’s a great core workout.
  2. It’s exercise wrapped up in play. Enough said!
  3. You get better coordination. Balance and coordination do go hand in hand, but what we’re talking about here is how you coordinate your arm movements with your legs and jumping and by engaging your core to stay upright.
  4.  Improved lymphatic and cardiovascular health.
  5. Strenghtening your muscles and enhancing your endurance.
  6. It’s a moderate intensity physical activity that your doctor will probably approve, no matter what your level of health is.
  7. It’s low impact even though it’s high impact on your overall health. When you jump on a trampoline, you’re landing on a surface with “give” and that means you’re not jarring your bones and joints and that makes for a healthier workout.

Best of all: Jumping on a trampoline is not only easy it is great fun! If you can get in shape and get a great workout and have fun doing it, you’re more likely to stick with it and that’s better for your overall health.

How To Buy A Trampoline For Your Family

The question of how to buy a trampoline for your family doesn’t seem like it should take all that much thought, right? Wrong! This is an accessory and a place for fun and to get a workout that will be with you and your family for many, many years and you need to put time and thought into the decision.

How To Buy A Trampoline For Your Family

If you’ve ever jumped on a trampoline, you may think you’re an expert at it and that might translate to buying one as well. Not so fast!

  1. Take your time making your decision. Talk with us and ask us our advice based on your family size, the size of your yard, how many people will be using it, the ages and the fitness level of those who want to use an in-ground trampoline to get in shape. There are many, many things to consider.
  2. Try them out. Take a jump on a few trampolines to see what type you like, and what type you may not like. The shape, the style the bounce of the jump mat and the springs all play a role in the quality and workmanship of the trampoline.
  3. What accessories will you want? There are many accessories for trampolines and you will want to ask your in-ground trampoline supplier which he recommends. You will also want to invest in accessories that are specifically suited to the trampoline you’re buying. You never want to “retrofit” an accessory because you could risk damaging your trampoline or even risk injury if the accessory isn’t made for your trampoline.
  4. Will you need assistance setting it up? Can you set it up on your own? This is something to ask the in-ground and above ground trampoline supplier with whom you’re working. You also need to follow all the instructions to a “t” to prevent any accidents from happening once the trampoline is in use.

Once the trampoline is in place, you need to make certain your children know the rules of the trampoline and those should include:

  1. Not wearing shoes on it
  2. Not jumping with more than one person at a time
  3. Not jumping when there is no adult supervision
  4. Not doing back flips
  5. If you have an above ground trampoline, no one should jump from the jump mat to the ground. Use a ladder or lower yourself off the side.

Benefits of in-ground trampolines

Is an In-Ground Trampoline better than an above ground trampoline?

This is a question we get asked all of the time when we talk with individuals and families who want to get a trampoline.

Benefits of in-ground trampolines

  1. An in-ground trampoline is safer than an above ground because of the height factor — the distance between the ground and the person jumping is reduced and this means it is safer. Can you still receive an injury? Yes, but the potential is lessened with an in-ground trampoline. Remember, any sport brings with it a risk of injury.  Using an in-ground trampoline is safer, too, because there are no exposed pieces of metal or springs. The springs are covered with pads and are designed to protect anyone from landing on the springs and injuring themselves. The in-ground trampolines we sell have an “over the lip” retaining wall and that provides additional inches of protection to those who use it.
  2. When you have an in-ground trampoline, you don’t have an unsightly above ground structure in your yard that could draw attention away from your beautifully landscaped outdoor area. An in-ground trampoline means you won’t be gazing upon the unappealing metal frame of an above ground trampoline and it’s unsightly netting.
  3. Whether you’re using your in-ground trampoline for exercise (it’s a great workout in a non-bone-jarring session), cheerleading, gymnastics or other exercise or fun, an in-ground trampoline delivers for everyone in the family.
  4. The design of our in-ground trampolines allow for airflow in and out of the trampoline pit. The systems we sell have the highest caliber spring counts of any comparable trampoline. The springs of our in-ground trampolines are what give you the “bounce” on your trampoline when you’re using it.
  5. Our products are American made with pre-galvanized springs that are designed for durability.

If you’re considering giving your family the gift of a trampoline this summer, look no further than an in-ground trampoline. Give us a call today to find out more information about this unique family fun area.

Air Flow

What about air flow?

That is one of the most commonly asked question I get here at In-Ground Trampolines. Maybe you know or maybe you don’t know, but air flow is a very important thing for any trampoline system. Without proper air flow the bounce and effectiveness of your in ground trampoline system can be severely diminished. More air flow creates a better bounce.

So what about our air flow?

In ground trampolines has specifically designed spring pad that allows the air to flow around the inside as well as the outside of the spring pad. While you jump the pad lifts slightly, allowing the air to escape. With each jump, air flows between your trampoline pit and the outside. Please note that at In-Ground Trampolines we designed this complete system to go in the ground. All other systems use an above ground trampoline and adapt it to go in the ground.

But wait, there’s more!

This year, 2015, we have also introduced a brand new, high performance, anti-slip, jump mat. This jump mat has 15X greater air flow than our previous jump mat. The air not only flows between the springs, but also through the jump mat’s surface. This increase of air flow gives the trampoline a bigger, more high performance style bounce.

I can confidently say that the combination of our high performance jump mat and our breathable spring pad, we have created the best in-ground trampoline you can find. If your thinking of this trampoline as a fun addition to your backyard or a place where your child/athlete can practice at home, you will not be disappointed in the worlds only complete In-Ground Trampoline system.

Your Backyard Trampoline

The IGT in-ground trampoline system is the perfect addition to any backyard

The backyard. A place for barbeques and cookouts. Tag and hide and seek. A place for looking at the stars and catching fireflies. Your backyard helps to make a house a home. An IGT in-ground trampoline system is the perfect addition to any backyard. Dependable, safer than above ground trampoline, and high ranking on performance.

IGT makes the only trampoline in the world that is designed for in ground installation. People have been installing their above ground trampolines in ground for years. Converting an above ground trampoline was the only option until the invention of our system. There are several ways you can install an above ground trampoline in ground. You can create your own retaining wall or you can purchase a conversion kit. A conversion kit allows you to attach a retaining wall to an already existing trampoline unit. Both options come with drawbacks. Creating a retaining wall from scratch can be expensive and time consuming. Installing and building a retaining wall can be as costly as installing a pool! While using a conversion kit can be complicated and many times it voids the manufactures warranty of the existing trampoline unit.

The IGT system is designed specifically to be installed in ground. The high performance jump mat is connected to the steel 15-gauge galvanized retaining wall, directly by our American made springs. IGT’s system is the best choice for you in-ground trampoline needs. We offer a warranty on all our whole system and individual replacement parts. We also offer free consulting on all of our products.

In-Ground Trampolines Are Better

Is an IGT In-Ground Trampoline really better than an above ground trampoline?

The short answer is Yes. An in-ground trampoline reduces height injury, looks more appealing in your yard, and provides great bounce.

Safety

First and foremost an in ground trampoline is safer than above ground trampoline simply because of the height factor. The distance between the ground and the jumper is greatly reduced. Yes injury can still happen, just like with any sports equipment, but the chances of a height related injury are not as likely. With an above ground trampoline injury can occur when children and animals crawl underneath the trampoline while someone is jumping on it. An in ground system eliminates the risk of that particular injury.

An IGT trampoline is safer than any run of the mill above ground trampoline because we make sure that no metal pieces of the trampoline are exposed. An IGT system comes with a spring pad cover, specifically designed to protect jumpers from landing on the hard metal springs and retaining wall. Our pad comes over the lip of the trampoline retaining wall, adding that extra couple of inches of protection from the retaining wall. If you are concerned about extra safety measures we do carry a safety net adapter kit. Which is installed on the out side of the retaining walls and allows for a safety net enclosure to be added to the IGT system.

Look

An in ground trampoline is a much more attractive option than an above ground trampoline. Your view doesn’t need to be obstructed by unappealing metal frame of a trampoline system. Instead picture your backyard sightline exactly as is but with happy jumping kids. An IGT system comes with your choice of green pad or a blue pad.

Performance

Many of our customers have purchased the IGT system for the athlete in the family. Whether it’s for gymnastics, cheerleading, or karate, the IGT system seriously delivers. Our pad is specially designed to let airflow in and out of the trampoline pit by escaping between the pad and the springs. The IGT trampoline system comes with the highest spring counts of any comparable size trampoline, 96 springs for a 12’ and 120 springs for a 15’. The springs of a trampoline are like the engine of a car, that’s where you get all your bounce power! The 8 ½ inch, American made, pre galvanized springs are guaranteed to deliver in both bounce and durability.

In short, an IGT system provides amazing, safe, family fun.
