5 In-ground Trampoline FAQs

Here are questions to get you started on your trampoline purchase and know what questions to ask.

  1. Do I need to hire a crew to help with the installation of an in-ground trampoline? Nope! It should take two adults fewer than two hours to assemble the in-ground trampoline, once the pit is excavated. You may want to recruit three or four adults to help lower the structure into the pit.
  2. How does the pit get excavated? There are some of our customers who dig their own hole with shovels and hard labor! There are others who hire local excavators. There are still others who will rent, or hire, a company to comein with excavating equipment and make short work of the project.
  3. Will there be standing water in the pit? You don’t want that so we recommend the IGT system to be installed two to four inches above the ground, burming the soil up to the edge of the trampoline. This keeps water from flowing into the pit if there is a heavy rain or snow melt and will also maintain a flush mount appearance. Depending on your local soil conditions, you may want to add a few inches of gravel in the bottom of the pit creating a sump effect to prevent standing water.
  4. I don’t live by your facility, how can I get my in-ground trampoline? Our IGT system can be shipped anywhere in the U.S. for $250. The system is delivered in four boxes totaling approximately 330lbs. Shipping rates outside the U.S. depend on location and tax implications. Price quotes are available upon request.
  5. What is the warranty policy on your made in the USA products? The frame is warrantied for ten years; the springs for three years; the pad and jump mat for two years. We also carry all the replacement parts for your trampoline.

Eight Trampoline Safety Tips

As sellers of high-quality in-ground and above-ground trampolines, we take great pride and satisfaction in knowing we are sharing safety tips and advice for any and all who buy one of our trampolines. We put together eight trampoline safety tips – some may be familiar – but we have people buying trampolines for the 2021 jumping season and a refresher is always great!

Whether you’re new to trampoline ownership or are old-hats or are switching from an in-ground trampoline to an above ground or vice versa read on for these tips. We know that trampoline accidents happen. We also know that if proper care is taken, these accidents and incidents can be avoided.

Eight Trampoline Safety Tips

Here are tips to read, print out and keep by your trampoline at all times!

  1. Only one person can use the trampoline at a time. The only – and we don’t recommend it – time is if the two people on it are of approximately the same weight. In fact, toddlers, who don’t get airborne are likely the safest twosome to be on at the same time.
  2. No flips or in air somersaults are allowed. If someone wants to do that then they need to do that at a facility with a trainer who can work with them – not at home.
  3. Safety equipment matters. Make sure you have invested in all the safety equipment you have the budget for. Use shock absorbing pads to completely cover the frame, hooks and springs. Use a safety net or enclosure. Don’t let anyone jump up and hang onto the enclosure.
  4. Keep the trampoline away from any overhead hazards. You may be trying to decide where in your yard to place the trampoline but you will want to look up as well as down. Keep it away from roof overhangs and tree branches.
  5. Make waiting fun. If you have a party and you know everyone will want to use the trampoline, enforce the one person at a time rule and make waiting fun. Set up craft tables or gather a lot of other fun outdoor toys or set up a small wading pool. Set a timer so everyone gets a turn.
  6. Never let anyone jump without adult supervision.
  7. Mini trampolines are hazardous, especially those with the handlebar accessory. Some people will jump too high and use the bar to compensate and can fall forward.
  8. Do your homework. Work with, and buy from, a trampoline seller who has a high reputation for quality materials. You may also need to ask your insurance agent whether a trampoline could impact your coverage.

How To Have A Happy Halloween This Year

Boooooo! Do you hear the children running around your neighborhood waiting for their trick or treat treats? Well, this year may be different and there may not be as many children knocking on doors for candy, but if you are going to take your children around, we have tips on how to have a happy Halloween this year.

Don’t let your children miss out on the fun of dressing up in a costume and knocking on doors for treats! As adults we think, “why not just go to the store and buy some candy.” But as a child, dressing up and being outside in the dark and knocking on doors is a thrill.

How To Have A Happy Halloween This Year

Even if you’re not going to let your little ghouls and goblins walk around the neighborhood this year, you may have relatives who live close who will offer up some candy.

There may be people in your neighborhood who will be planning a way to socially distance and give children candy.

Trunk or treats are popular. Individuals decorate their car trunks, fill it with candy and treats then gather in a central location. The children can then visit each vehicle and grab a treat. That’s a great way to have fun and be safe.

Once you’re done trick or treating, why not set up a few lighted pumpkins in the backyard and spend some time together on the family trampoline! What a great way to wrap up a fun evening.

Are You Using Your Trampoline Even More?

“I’m bored…” How often have your children been saying that since the coronavirus pandemic hit and they are now forced to stay home and not see their friends? Are you using your trampoline even more? We know that many people are and that many more people are investing in trampolines for fun and exercise when they are staying home.

Using a trampoline is a great way for your children to burn off their energy and to get in shape (without even knowing it) and stave off boredom that comes from not being able to see their friends or go to school.

We also know that some parents are “bored” too, of trying to find ways to entertain their children while they are trying to get work done!

Are You Using Your Trampoline Even More?

If you’re new to trampoline ownership or are still in the research phases for an in-ground or an above ground trampoline here are a few things to keep in mind.

  1. Buy the highest quality you can afford. A high quality, well-made in-ground or above ground trampoline will keep you safer and will also last longer than lower quality, inexpensive models.
  2. There needs to be ample headspace in the area you are placing your trampoline. There should be no overhead branches, roofs or other potential crash injury structures.
  3. Inspect the springs, bolts, pads and jump mat regularly. You need to make sure the pads are completely covering the springs. The springs need to be viable and not rusted or coming loose. The jump mat needs to also be inspected for any rips or tears.
  4. Check the safety net to make certain it’s secure and that there are no holes.
  5. Make sure there is only one child at a time jumping on the trampoline. You may be able to have more than one if they are the same weight and that they know not to jump too crazily so they bump into one another.
  6. Shoes off! Make sure shoes are off when jumping on the trampoline. Don’t let children or adults wear jewelry or earrings when on the trampoline as they could get snagged on the net or mat and cause an injury.
  7. Make sure the mat is dry. A slippery jump mat will lead to a slip and fall. Dry the mat and use a mat cover when the trampoline is not in use.

How To Be Safe On A Trampoline

In-Ground Trampolines: Better & Safer and that is because of education on how to be safe on a trampoline and better, safer equipment on the market. When we talk with our customers or potential customers and they’re asking whether they should get an in-ground trampoline, we share with them the ins and outs of how to buy and safely use a trampoline.

Why is an in-ground trampoline better and safer?

Because the in-ground trampoline is ground level, rather than elevated the way an above ground trampoline is, it is inherently safer. That being said, when you’re airborne many feet above the ground, an injury can occur IF safety measures and trampoline use rules aren’t adhered to.

It is up the adults in the house to assure everyone who uses the trampoline — whether above ground or in-ground use it safely.

A benefit that many new trampoline owners find with an in-ground trampoline is that it doesn’t negatively impact the beauty of a landscaped yard.

How To Be Safe On A Trampoline

  1. In-ground trampolines are safer because they are ground level. The distance between the ground and the jumper is reduced.  Injuries can still happen, but then it could happen if you’re walking down a sidewalk and trip and fall or if you get injured playing sports.
  2. The in-ground trampolines we sell are safer because ours are manufactured using high quality USA-made products and make certain no pieces of metal are exposed. The in-ground trampoline systems we sell come with spring pad covers designed to protect jumpers from landing on a metal spring or the retaining wall. The in-ground trampoline pad covers the lip of the trampoline retaining wall and adds an additional few inches of protection.
  3. Invest in safety equipment for your in-ground trampoline to make it safer. We sell safety net adapter kits that are installed on the retaining walls and allow for a safety net enclosure to be added.
  4. An in ground trampoline is attractive. This is not a safety measure, just another benefit of an in-ground trampoline.
  5. Our customers chose in-ground trampolines from our company because of the high quality of the system and the service we provide.

Know how you will use your trampoline — gymnastics, recovery from an injury, a fun way to get in shape or a place for your children to play. An in-ground trampoline system will deliver satisfaction for all these uses!

Look for a jump mat that is designed for the use you want. The jump pads and mats we sell with all our in-ground trampolines are specifically designed for airflow in the trampoline pit to escape between the pad and the springs. Proper airflow allows for a better jump experience.
