Is Your Trampoline Spring-Ready?

Looking at the calendar or watching the snowfall, you may not think that spring is coming soon, but it is. The Groundhog saw his shadow and predicted an early spring and because of that, we ask: is your trampoline spring-ready? Trampolines, both inground and above ground don't require a lot of maintenance, but they do require some and that is especially true if it hasn't been used for a few months. Once spring makes its way to your part of the country, you want to make certain the trampoline is ready to greet the new season with the same fervor you are!

Is Your Trampoline Spring-Ready?

Here are some items you will want to check to assure your trampoline is ready to greet the season.
  1. The frame. It's the heart of the trampoline and has to be in good shape to assure performance, but more importantly, safety. Inspect the frame for erosion, rust or any cracks or other faults that could impact its integrity.
  2. The mat. Check the mat for any pilling or snags or tiny tears. During the winter, falling branches or the weight of ice and snow could have damaged it. Wash it thoroughly, let it dry then inspect it.
  3. The springs. It's possible for the springs on the trampoline to have stretched out or to have gotten rusted over time. Check them and assure yourself that none of them are stretched out; if they are replace them before anyone jumps.
  4. The safety net. If you didn't take down the safety net for the winter season, it may have gotten damaged by wind or snow. If it got blown over, check for any tears. You may need to replace the netting or the entire safety enclosure as well as any enclosure poles that may be damaged.
  5. The spring padding. The padding on the springs protects anyone who jumps from falling and getting pinched by the springs. The springs padding also helps prevent anyone from falling down between the springs and getting injured.
Before you remove the trampoline cover, inspect it for any holes or any rips and replace it if necessary. The trampoline cover is one of the best ways to protect your investment.
